Welcome August 2025
““Because one believes in oneself, one doesn’t try to convince others. Because one is content with oneself, one doesn’t need others’ approval. Because one accepts oneself, the whole world accepts him or her.”
— Lao-Tzu
Hello August!
August 1st, Lammas or Lughnasadh, marks the first harvest and the midpoint between the Summer Solstice and the Fall Equinox. It signifies the peak of summer and celebrates the union of the sun and earth and how they together produce the first grain harvest.
Now is the perfect time to set a little time aside to gather and offer gratitude to the summer season’s abundance.
Saturday, you must take a good long look a the Full Sturgeon Moon. She’s known to illuminates abundance, connection and magic in our lives. Go out and soak up the nurturing lunar energy she offers.
About the third week of August, while nature is undergoing its last burst of growth before the harvest, Late Summer arrives. It’s often hot, muggy and with plenty of thunderstorms. We will begin to feel the shift from the fire energy of the Summer into the earth energy of Late Summer, and we are only in the presence of the earth energy until the Fall Equinox.
This month we will continue with uplifting practices that align with the sun’s light. Strength building, awakening self confidence, increased energy will be some of the benefits received.
Our soothing Yin practices will support the summer element of fire and the meridian for the organs of the heart and small intestines and are true gift to helping us balance, release and restore our energies. Once Late Summer arrives, we will shift into caring for our stomach and spleen.
I look forward to practicing with you this month and embracing all that it reveals.
